Railroad Production and the Future of Railroad Products

by Shelley Morris -

As you know, we are currently working through year-end railroad orders.  Railroads (and many of our other customers), have year-end deadlines to meet. All of the railroads operate as publicly-traded companies, with firm annual budgets and accountability to investors, unparalleled in many other industries.  It's part of the business. That said, the railroads recognize the quality and value that Maintainer can provide, and have blessed us with more orders for 2020, while nudging us to take on more.  Their only concern has been, and will remain, our ability to make on-time deliveries. When we can demonstrate that we can, this product group has strong upside potential.

It will work much better in the new building where we will have the room, resources, and layout to build these types of products without interfering with the standard and custom line work.  The new building was designed with this type of manufacturing in mind, complete with track in the floor for rail gear alignment, and work cells for independent product manufacturing.   Unlike years past, there is very little pause of railroad products in 2020.
